The River North market is in dire need of additional parking spaces, with the construction of three major office buildings, along with other developments. The new projects have eliminated over 1,000 surface parking spots. The proposed new garage will be beneficial due to (1) its close proximity to the Loop, (2) its superior location on Clark Street, (3) its position adjacent to the new 523 room Springhill Suites/Residence Inn, (4) its location across the street from 353 N. Clark, an 1,150,000 square foot office building anchored by Mesirow Financial and Jenner & Block (5) the need in the River North neighborhood for additional nighttime parking for restaurants, attractions and entertainment.
