40 West Hubbard Street
After the Chicago Fire, 40 West Hubbard Street was occupied variously by a loft building, a gas station and finally the present structure, erected in 1948 for the Phillips Getschow Company, an engineering firm which planned the mechanical systems for many of Chicago's most prominent buildings. Although of relatively recent date, the building nevertheless complements the historic Courthouse District.
Today, 40 West Hubbard Street is home to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, a nationally acclaimed restaurant chain, sreving some of Chicago' best prime steaks.
